Nocturnal Critic Uploader (”the Tool”) is a private, internal tool used by the Nocturnal Critic YouTube channel (youtube.com/@nocturnalcritic) to upload and manage the channel’s own videos and to research publicly available YouTube video information for content planning. It is operated by Nocturnal Critic (”we”, “us”). It is not offered to the public, and it is used only by the owner of the Nocturnal Critic channel.
YouTube API Services
The Tool uses YouTube API Services. By using the Tool, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
Information accessed through YouTube API Services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy: http://www.google.com/policies/privacy
What information the Tool accesses
Our own channel (with permission through Google sign-in, OAuth 2.0): basic channel information (channel ID and title), to confirm the correct channel is signed in, and the ability to upload videos and set their titles, descriptions, tags, privacy status and thumbnails.
Public YouTube data: public search results and public video statistics (titles, channel names, view counts, upload dates and durations), used to research which film topics are popular.
How the information is used
The information is used only to upload and manage the Nocturnal Critic channel’s own videos and to inform the channel’s own content decisions. We do not sell, rent or share any information with third parties. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of YouTube users.
Storage and deletion
Sign-in tokens: the Google sign-in token is stored only on the channel owner’s own computer. It is protected by the computer’s account permissions and is never sent anywhere except to Google.
Public research data: public data retrieved for research (such as view counts) is kept only in temporary working files on the same computer. It is refreshed or deleted within 30 days, in line with YouTube’s API Developer Policies.
Deleting stored data: to have all stored data deleted, contact us at the address below. We delete it within 7 days.
Revoking access
You can revoke the Tool’s access to your Google account at any time through Google’s security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions
